Roda JC bring in Algeria-France playmaker Mokrane Bentoumi from Le Havre

Roda JC have signed Algeria-France attacking midfielder Mokrane Bentoumi from Le Havre AC, adding the 20-year-old to their squad in the Netherlands. Bentoumi has agreed a contract running until 30 June 2028.

The move takes Bentoumi from Ligue 1 club Le Havre to Roda JC, who compete in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. The Rouen-born midfielder is eligible to represent both Algeria and France and is known for operating in an attacking midfield role.

Bentoumi spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Aubagne Air Bel before returning to Le Havre at the end of June. He had also spent the previous campaign away from his parent club, joining FC Villefranche on loan during the 2024-25 season.

The midfielder developed through Le Havre’s system after joining the club from Le Havre B in July 2024. Before that, he represented the club’s under-19 and under-17 sides, having started his youth career with FC Rouen.

Bentoumi was part of the Le Havre squad that won the French second-tier title in the 2022-23 season. That success came during his time in the club’s youth structure, before he progressed to senior football through loan spells with Villefranche and Aubagne.

At 1.69m, Bentoumi is a left-footed player whose primary position is attacking midfield. His arrival gives Roda JC a young option in the central attacking areas as the Dutch club begin the 2026-27 campaign.

He joins Roda JC after a career spent entirely in French football, with his move marking his first change of country at senior club level. Le Havre had previously brought him into their senior setup after his progression from the club’s academy and reserve side.

Bentoumi’s contract with Roda JC is in place until the summer of 2028.
