Kelvin Lamptey-Mills joins FC Cartagena from Kabaniakos on free transfer

Ghanaian-American centre-back Kelvin Lamptey-Mills has joined FC Cartagena from Greek side Kabaniakos on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old has signed a contract with the Spanish club until 30 June 2028, moving to Cartagena’s Primera Federacion – Gr. II side after six months with Kabaniakos.

Lamptey-Mills, who was born in Accra, Ghana, is a right-footed central defender standing 1.89m tall. He joined Kabaniakos in January 2026 after a spell without a club and now begins his first recorded period with FC Cartagena.

His competitive involvement in Greece included one appearance in the Super League 2 play-out competition, with four minutes played. The transfer represents a move from Kabaniakos to a club competing in Spain’s Primera Federacion, where he will continue his career as a centre-back.

Lamptey-Mills has previously been registered with MEAP Nisou, joining the Cypriot club from Kalonji SA in January 2025 before leaving later that year. He subsequently spent part of the 2025-26 season without a club before moving to Greece.

The defender holds both Ghanaian and United States nationality. His arrival adds a young central defensive option to FC Cartagena’s squad, with his agreement tying him to the club through the end of June 2028.
