FC Aarau bring in Mali-Belgian striker Mohamed Guindo from La Louviere

Mali-Belgian centre-forward Mohamed Guindo has crossed into Swiss football by joining FC Aarau from La Louviere, completing his move on 26 August 2026.

The 23-year-old arrives at the Challenge League club after featuring for La Louviere in Belgium’s top flight. Guindo was born in Bamako and can operate as a central striker, with his right foot listed as his preferred side.

His move follows a season in which he spent time away from La Louviere with Clermont Foot. Guindo joined Clermont on loan on 19 January 2026 before returning to La Louviere at the end of the temporary spell on 30 June.

Guindo initially joined La Louviere from Zulte Waregem in July 2024 on a free transfer. His time with the club has therefore included a return from a loan move before his switch to Switzerland, where he now continues his career with Aarau.

The striker’s strongest scoring return came during the 2023-24 campaign, when he finished as the leading scorer in 2de Nationale VV A with 27 goals. That achievement came before his move from Pro Vercelli to Zulte Waregem in August 2023.

Guindo moved into senior football after leaving Pro Vercelli’s under-19 side for the Italian club’s first team in July 2022. He had earlier spent time in Anderlecht’s youth system and played for the club’s under-21 side before moving to Italy in January 2022.

At 1.84m, Guindo gives Aarau a centre-forward who has developed across Belgian and Italian football before moving through La Louviere and Clermont. His arrival also represents a fresh step outside Belgium after his recent involvement in the Jupiler Pro League.

Guindo has signed for FC Aarau on a contract running until 30 June 2028.
