Al-Taawoun sign Ivory Coast winger Parfait Guiagon from Charleroi for €4.3m

Ivory Coast winger Parfait Guiagon has joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Taawoun from Belgian side Royal Charleroi SC for €4.3m.

The 25-year-old has agreed a contract running until 30 June 2029 after completing his move on 26 August. Guiagon plays primarily on the left wing and is right-footed.

He arrives in Saudi Arabia after beginning the 2026-27 campaign with Charleroi in the Jupiler Pro League. Guiagon made one league appearance before departing Belgium and scored once, playing 74 minutes.

Guiagon spent three seasons with Charleroi after moving there from Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv in August 2023. He made that switch for €1.5m and had previously been part of Maccabi’s title-winning squad during the 2019-20 season.

His career in Israel also included loan spells at Maccabi Netanya and Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam. He joined Maccabi Netanya on loan in August 2021 before returning to Tel Aviv the following June, while his earlier loan at Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam ran during the 2020-21 campaign.

Born in Logouale, Guiagon stands 1.65m tall and developed in Ivorian football before moving to Israel. He began his senior career with Africa Sports, later joining Maccabi Tel Aviv before establishing himself in European football with Charleroi.

The transfer takes Guiagon into the Saudi Pro League after his most recent campaign in Belgium, with Al-Taawoun securing his services for a reported fee of €4.3m. His recorded market value at the time of the move was €5m.

Guiagon has now formally exchanged Charleroi for Al-Taawoun on a contract that runs through June 2029.
