Richards Bay v Kaizer Chiefs: Confirmed starting XIs for Betway Premiership clash

Kaizer Chiefs will look to extend their strong start to the Betway Premiership season when they visit winless Richards Bay FC at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Amakhosi are second in the table after collecting seven points from their opening three league matches. Their most recent outing ended in a 1-1 draw with reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium, a result that kept Chiefs three points off top spot.

Chiefs have won twice and drawn once in the league so far. Their only defeat of the campaign came in the MTN8 quarter-finals, where they were beaten by Golden Arrows.

Richards Bay, meanwhile, are still searching for their first victory of the season. They began with a defeat by Polokwane City before drawing with Chippa United and Durban City in their next two matches.

Coach Ronnie Gabriel is now the club’s sole manager but has yet to oversee a victory after the opening three games. Richards Bay’s last win came in April against TS Galaxy.

The hosts will also be seeking to end a difficult run against Chiefs. The Amakhosi have lost their past three away matches against the Natal Rich Boys, with their most recent victory in this fixture coming in March 2023.

There has never been a draw in the eight meetings between the two sides. Chiefs have won five of those matches, while Richards Bay have claimed three victories.
