Newcastle United secure long-term deal for Guinea prospect Ousmane Diabate

Newcastle United have completed the signing of Guinea midfielder Ousmane Diabate from Genclerbirligi SK, with the player agreeing a four-year contract that includes an option for a further season.

The move was confirmed by SOAR Academy on its Facebook page. Diabate had previously been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, as reported exclusively by Africafoot, but has instead chosen to continue his career with Newcastle United.

The young midfielder will not immediately join Newcastle’s first-team squad in the Premier League. He is set to remain in Turkey on loan, allowing him to continue his development in a familiar environment before eventually moving to St James’ Park.
