Mory Diaw strengthens Al-Shabab goalkeeping ranks after leaving Le Havre

Senegalese-French goalkeeper Mory Diaw has joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab from Le Havre AC, completing a move that takes the 33-year-old to Saudi Arabia.

Diaw arrives after one season with Le Havre, whom he joined from Clermont Foot on 12 July 2025. He moved to the Ligue 1 club as a free agent after leaving Clermont, having spent part of the previous campaign on loan at Rodez AF.

The 1.97m right-footed goalkeeper has been involved at international level for Senegal during the 2026 World Cup. He made three appearances in the tournament, conceding three goals and recording one clean sheet.

Diaw began his senior career within the Paris Saint-Germain system, progressing from the club’s under-17 side to Paris Saint-Germain B before moving to Portuguese club Mafra in July 2015. He later joined Loko Plovdiv in Bulgaria and United Zurich in Switzerland, with a spell without a club between those moves.

His time in Switzerland also included a move to Lausanne-Sport in 2019. Diaw helped Lausanne-Sport win the Swiss second tier in the 2019-20 season, an achievement that marked the club’s successful campaign in the competition.

Diaw subsequently moved to Clermont Foot in July 2022 on a free transfer. During the 2024-25 season, he joined Rodez on loan before returning to Clermont at the end of the campaign. He then switched to Le Havre, where he spent the 2025-26 season before his latest move.

Al-Shabab’s new goalkeeper has a career-high market value of €2m and is valued at €900,000 as he begins his next chapter in the Saudi Pro League. His arrival adds a goalkeeper with experience across clubs in France, Switzerland, Portugal and Bulgaria, as well as international tournament involvement with Senegal.
