Hull City step up pursuit of Ilyas Ansah with €22m Union Berlin offer

Hull City have made a €22m offer, including bonuses, for Union Berlin forward Ilyas Ansah as the recently promoted Premier League club steps up its efforts to sign the 21-year-old, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Discussions between Hull City and Union Berlin are understood to have reached an advanced stage. The English club is also working on the details of a long-term contract with Ansah, and talks over personal terms are not expected to present any significant difficulties.

Ansah is particularly interested in the prospect of moving to the Premier League and is keen to use the opportunity to continue his development in English football. Hull City’s proposal represents a significant investment in a player whose market value is currently estimated at €12m.

The forward joined Union Berlin from Paderborn in the summer of 2025 and quickly established himself as one of the club’s most promising attacking players. Last season, the Germany international recorded five goals and three assists in the Bundesliga.

Born in Germany to Ghanaian parents, Ansah has attracted attention for a style that combines physical strength with mobility. Those qualities appear to have persuaded Hull City to make a substantial offer as they look to strengthen their squad after returning to the Premier League.
