Werder Bremen monitor Belgian-Congolese midfielder Mario Stroeykens

Belgian-Congolese midfielder Mario Stroeykens is the subject of a reported transfer link between RSC Anderlecht and Werder Bremen, with the 21-year-old potentially moving to the Bundesliga.

Stroeykens, an attacking midfielder, remains under contract with Anderlecht until 30 June 2028. His estimated market value is €4.5m, while the reported likelihood of a move is 31%, indicating the transfer is at an early stage rather than close to completion.

The Zellik-born player joined Anderlecht’s senior set-up from the club’s under-21 side in January 2021 and has continued to be associated with the Belgian club. He has not made an appearance for Anderlecht in the opening matches of the 2026-27 campaign, either in Europa League qualifying or the Jupiler Pro League.

Werder Bremen are preparing for another Bundesliga season and the reported interest would represent a move abroad for Stroeykens, who has spent his club career with Anderlecht. No transfer fee or agreement has been established, and the available information does not indicate that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.

Stroeykens’ current deal gives Anderlecht a contractual position as the speculation develops, with more than two years remaining on his agreement.
