Spurs confident of securing Omar Marmoush after Savinho deal
Tottenham are confident they will complete the signing of Egypt international Omar Marmoush for about 74m euros before the transfer window closes, according to Nicolo Schira.
The London club have already agreed a five-year contract with the 27-year-old forward, who is pushing to move to Tottenham as soon as possible. The proposed transfer would be the latest major piece of business in an ambitious summer for Spurs.
Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City for 87.5m euros, with a further 11.5m euros available in potential bonuses. The club are now working to conclude a second high-profile move, with confidence growing that Marmoush will join from the same Premier League side.
Marmoush was persuaded by the project presented to him personally by Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi. The Egypt international rejected a financially lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia after deciding that the opportunity in London was more attractive.
The transfer is expected to be completed before the end of the current transfer market. Marmoush remains under contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2029, although his current market value is estimated at 50m euros by Transfermarkt.
His reported annual salary is 17,183,908 euros, equivalent to 11,169,540,200 CFA francs. Despite those existing contractual ties with Manchester City, the indications are that Tottenham are making significant progress towards an agreement for his move.
The potential transfer comes as Manchester City prepare for their opening Premier League fixture against Bournemouth. For that match, betting company 1xbet lists Manchester City as the 1.45 favourites, with a draw priced at 4.75 and a Bournemouth victory at 5.75.
Tottenham’s agreement for Savinho underlines the scale of their plans in the transfer market, while Marmoush’s willingness to turn down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia has strengthened the belief that he wants to work with De Zerbi in London.
If the final stages proceed as expected, the deal for the Egyptian forward should be completed before the transfer deadline.
