Fiorentina draw up succession plan as Como continue pursuit of Kean
Fiorentina are examining possible replacements for Moise Kean, with Everton forward Beto emerging as one of the options being considered should the Italy international leave the club.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Italian side have identified the 28-year-old Beto as a potential successor to Kean. The former Udinese striker is entering the final stages of his current spell with Everton, and Fiorentina are assessing several alternatives as they prepare for the possibility of losing their leading forward.
Kean remains a target for Como, who are continuing their efforts to persuade Fiorentina to agree to his departure. The club managed by Cesc Fabregas have already had one offer rejected and have not yet submitted an improved proposal.
However, negotiations could resume in the near future. Kean’s representatives are working to narrow the gap between the two clubs, with the aim of reaching an agreement over the financial terms of a transfer. Fiorentina’s interest in Beto is therefore part of wider contingency planning rather than confirmation that Kean has left the club.
Beto scored 10 goals in all competitions for Everton last season. The Bissau-Guinean forward is contracted to the Toffees until June 2027, while his current market value is estimated at 18m euros by Transfermarkt.
His reported annual salary in England is 3,128,340 euros, equivalent to 2,033,421,000 FCFA. Any move for Beto would therefore require Fiorentina to consider both a transfer fee and the financial implications of his wages, although the article does not state that formal negotiations have begun between the clubs.
The situation surrounding Kean is expected to remain under scrutiny while Como assess whether to return with a new offer. Fiorentina, meanwhile, appear determined to ensure they have alternatives available if an agreement is eventually reached for the striker’s departure.
Fiorentina are also due to face AS Roma in the opening round of the Italian championship. Betting company 1xBet lists AS Roma at 1.58 to win that match, with a draw priced at 3.90 and a Fiorentina victory at 5.30.
