Liverpool assess Ismaila Sarr option after Crystal Palace displays
Liverpool are considering a move for Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr as they broaden their attacking options, according to reports.
The Senegal international has attracted attention from the Reds after an impressive campaign with Crystal Palace, and Liverpool’s recruitment team are monitoring his situation closely. Sarr remains under contract with the Eagles until 30 June 2029, giving the London club a strong negotiating position should interest develop into a formal approach.
Sarr’s performances last season have maintained his reputation in the transfer market. The 27-year-old is valued at €45m, although Crystal Palace’s long-term commitment to the player means Liverpool would likely need to meet significant financial demands to secure his signature.
According to information from Nevzat Dindar, Liverpool particularly appreciate Sarr’s profile and experience. The Senegal winger can operate on either flank and is regarded as a player capable of providing pace, direct running and attacking penetration.
The Merseyside club is therefore expected to continue watching developments around Sarr before deciding whether to make a concrete move in the coming weeks. At this stage, the interest has not resulted in a confirmed offer, and there is no indication that Crystal Palace are actively seeking to sell the player.
Known as the “Lion of Teranga”, Sarr is currently reported to earn €4,348,684 per year in England, equivalent to 2,826,644,600 FCFA. His contract runs through the end of June 2029, leaving Crystal Palace in a favourable position in any potential negotiations.
Liverpool are also due to face Newcastle in their opening Premier League fixture. For that match, betting company 1xBet lists Newcastle at 3.05 to win, with a draw priced at 3.65 and a Liverpool victory at 1.93.
The fixture will provide an early meeting between Liverpool and Newcastle, although Sarr’s potential involvement remains separate from the match itself. Any decision by Liverpool to pursue the winger would depend on how the club assess their attacking needs and whether an agreement can be reached with Crystal Palace.
For now, Sarr remains a player being watched rather than a confirmed Liverpool target subject to an official bid. His versatility, speed and recent performances for Crystal Palace have nevertheless placed him on the club’s list of possible attacking additions.
