Terem Moffi due in Hamburg for medical after Nice agree transfer deal

Terem Moffi is expected to arrive in Hamburg on Friday evening after OGC Nice reached a final agreement with the German club over the Nigeria striker’s transfer.

The deal is set to earn OGC Nice an initial €2m, with a further €500,000 available in performance-related bonuses under the terms of the agreement. Moffi is expected to sign a three-year contract with his new club, according to RMC Sport.

The 26-year-old’s next step will be a medical examination scheduled for Saturday morning. If he passes without any issues, his move to Hamburg could be formally confirmed shortly afterwards.

Moffi remains under contract with OGC Nice until 30 June 2027, but the French club have agreed to allow him to depart before the end of that deal. His current market value is estimated at €8m by Transfermarkt, meaning the initial fee is significantly below that assessment, although the potential bonuses could increase the overall value of the transfer.

At Hamburg, Moffi will hope to revive his career and secure a leading role in a new project. The Nigeria international is reported to earn an annual salary of €900,000, equivalent to 585,000,000 CFA francs.

The transfer comes as OGC Nice prepare to begin their French championship campaign. They are due to face Lorient in their opening match of the season.

The German side have agreed the financial terms with OGC Nice, while the forthcoming medical represents the final major step before the transfer can be completed. Subject to a successful examination, Moffi’s departure from the French club is expected to be announced soon.
