Jad Koembo completes US Orleans move after Chateauroux rise

French-DR Congo right-back Jad Koembo has joined US Orleans from LB Chateauroux, completing his move to the Ligue 3 club on 18 August 2026.

Koembo, 22, arrives after one season with Chateauroux’s senior side, having made the step up from Chateauroux B in July 2025. He previously spent time in Chateauroux’s youth system, joining the club’s under-19 team from its under-17s in 2021 before moving into senior football.

The right-footed defender has been used primarily at right-back and is listed at 1.76m. His career record includes 33 Ligue 3 appearances and two assists, as well as 39 appearances, three goals and one assist in National 2.

Koembo also played twice in the Coupe de France and made one appearance in the Coupe Gambardella during his time in the French football system. His move to Orleans represents the latest stage of a path spent entirely within French club football.

He began his development with Chateauroux’s youth teams before progressing through the club’s reserve side. The defender moved to Chateauroux B in July 2022 after his under-19 year and remained there for three seasons before joining LB Chateauroux.

Koembo holds French and Democratic Republic of Congo nationality. His arrival at Orleans comes as the club competes in Ligue 3, while his former side, LB Chateauroux, is listed in National 1.

His recorded career totals include 107 appearances across Ligue 3, National 2, youth competitions and domestic cup football, with three goals and four assists in the senior statistics recorded across those competitions.

The transfer adds a young right-back with experience of both National 2 and Ligue 3 football to the Orleans squad. Koembo officially became an Orleans player on 18 August 2026.
