Dutch-Angolan midfielder Tonny Vilhena emerges as SC Cambuur transfer target

Dutch-Angolan midfielder Tonny Vilhena is being linked with a move from Panathinaikos to SC Cambuur in the Eredivisie.

Vilhena, 31, has been with the Greek club since joining on 7 July 2023 and remains under contract until 30 June 2027. The reported interest comes as the central midfielder has yet to feature for Panathinaikos in the current campaign, with four possible games completed and no appearances recorded.

The Netherlands-born player has a market value of €500,000. He has predominantly played in central midfield and is left-footed.

Vilhena won the Greek Cup with Panathinaikos in 2024, adding to a domestic honours list that includes a Dutch league title and two Dutch Cups during his time with Feyenoord. He also won the Dutch Super Cup twice.

A move to Cambuur would represent a return to the Netherlands for the former Feyenoord player, who was born in Maassluis and developed through the Rotterdam club’s academy. His senior career began at Feyenoord, where he collected several major domestic honours before moving abroad.

The link between Vilhena and Cambuur remains a rumour, with no transfer agreement or fee reported. Panathinaikos’ existing contract with the midfielder runs through June 2027.
