Victor Osimhen open to Arsenal move as Galatasaray consider €90m proposal
Arsenal have reportedly made a €90m offer to Galatasaray for Victor Osimhen as they step up their efforts to strengthen their attack for the new season.
According to journalist Serdar Ali Celikler, the Gunners’ hierarchy has approved the proposal for the Nigeria international, who has become a key member of Galatasaray’s squad.
Osimhen is said to be highly attracted by the prospect of playing in the Premier League and would welcome a move to the London club. Negotiations between Arsenal and the Turkish champions are reportedly progressing positively, with the player understood to be open to a transfer to England.
The decision now rests largely with Galatasaray, who face a significant strategic choice over one of their most important players. Osimhen has established himself as an indispensable figure in the Istanbul side’s squad, but a fee of €90m would represent a particularly substantial financial transaction for the club.
With discussions continuing and Osimhen receptive to the possibility of joining Arsenal, the outcome is expected to depend on Galatasaray’s final response and whether an agreement can be reached over the forward’s personal contract.
Osimhen is valued at €75m and remains under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029. The Lagos-born striker earns an annual salary of €18,750,000 in Turkey, equivalent to 12,187,500,000 FCFA.
The reported proposal would therefore be €15m above his stated valuation, although Galatasaray’s willingness to consider the approach has not been confirmed. The club must weigh the financial value of the offer against the sporting importance of retaining a forward who has become central to its team.
For now, Osimhen remains a Galatasaray player and is expected to be involved in the club’s immediate domestic schedule. Galatasaray will soon play their second Turkish league match of the season against Erzurumspor.
The betting company 1xbet has listed Galatasaray as strong favourites for that fixture, offering odds of 1.14 for a home victory. A draw is priced at 7.50, while Erzurumspor are given odds of 14.00 to win.
Those short-term commitments come as Arsenal’s reported interest adds pressure to the transfer discussions. Osimhen’s desire to test himself in the Premier League, combined with the size of the proposed fee, means Galatasaray’s decision could determine whether one of the summer’s major transfers moves forward.
