Galatasaray considering move for Sunderland’s Senegalese-French midfielder Habib Diarra
Senegalese-French midfielder Habib Diarra is being linked with a move from Sunderland to Galatasaray, with the Turkish Super Lig club reportedly monitoring the 22-year-old central midfielder.
Diarra joined Sunderland on 1 July 2025 and remains under contract with the Premier League club until 30 June 2030. His current market value is listed at €35m, underlining the scale of any potential deal involving the player.
The midfielder has made three appearances for Sunderland in the current campaign, scoring twice. He has been involved in 37% of the available minutes and has started in half of his appearances.
Diarra, who was born in Guediawaye, holds Senegalese and French nationality. He is right-footed and operates primarily in central midfield.
The reported interest comes little more than a year after his arrival at Sunderland and with the player still tied to a long-term contract. There has been no confirmation that Galatasaray have made a formal offer, while Sunderland have not indicated that they are seeking to sell him.
Diarra’s potential availability will therefore be closely watched as the transfer rumour develops, particularly given his recent goal contribution and the length of his existing agreement with Sunderland.
