West Ham linked with Al Ahly and Egypt midfielder Emam Ashour

Egypt midfielder Emam Ashour is the subject of a transfer rumour linking him with a move from Al Ahly to Championship club West Ham.

Ashour, 28, is under contract with Al Ahly until 30 June 2028, meaning any move would require an agreement between the clubs. The central midfielder joined the Egyptian side from Midtjylland in July 2023 in a deal worth €2.68m.

He has been a key part of Al Ahly’s recent success, helping the club win the CAF Champions League in the 2023-24 season and the Egyptian championship in both 2023-24 and 2024-25.

Ashour’s latest recorded international performances came at the 2026 World Cup, where he started all five of Egypt’s possible matches, played 76% of the available minutes and scored twice.

He has made 157 Premier League appearances, scoring 36 goals and providing 25 assists, while also featuring 40 times in the CAF Champions League. His current market value is listed at €5m.

The rumour was recorded on 17 August 2026, with West Ham listed as the interested club. No transfer fee or probability has been established, and Ashour remains an Al Ahly player with two years left on his contract beyond the current season.
