FC Emmen consider move for French-Congolese winger Andy Pembele

Andy Pembele, the French-Congolese winger who is currently without a club, has been linked with a move to FC Emmen of the Dutch second tier.

The 26-year-old right winger became unattached on 1 July after leaving Bourg-en-Bresse, having joined the French club from Paris FC on a free transfer in October 2025. Emmen play in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

Pembele has spent much of his senior career in France, including spells with Paris FC, Rodez AF and US Creteil-Lusitanos. He made 36 appearances in Ligue 3, scoring three goals, and has also featured 21 times in Ligue 2, where he recorded one goal and one assist.

His strongest recorded return came earlier in his career in the lower French divisions, including two goals and an assist in three appearances in the N3 Occitanie competition.

Pembele is right-footed and was developed in the youth systems of SM Caen before moving to Lille’s reserve side in 2019. He later joined Paris FC in 2020 and spent loan spells with Creteil and Rodez.

There has been no confirmation of an agreement between Pembele and Emmen, and the reported move remains at the rumour stage. Pembele’s current status leaves him available to negotiate with clubs after his departure from Bourg-en-Bresse.
