Mechal weigh move for Guinea goalkeeper Mohamed Camara
Mohamed Camara, the Guinea goalkeeper at Ghanaian club Asante Kotoko, has been linked with a move to Ethiopian Premier League side Mechal.
The 26-year-old joined Asante Kotoko from fellow Guinean club SOAR on 1 August 2024 and is valued at €100,000. He has since been identified as a possible target for Mechal, with both clubs competing in their respective domestic Premier League competitions.
Camara’s contract with Asante Kotoko was scheduled to expire on 30 June 2026, meaning his contractual position is central to the speculation surrounding a potential switch. No transfer fee or agreement has been reported, and the move remains a rumour rather than a confirmed deal.
Born on 16 March 2000, Camara stands 1.94m tall and is right-footed. Before joining SOAR, he spent time with Kaloum, also in Guinea, having moved there in January 2024.
The proposed transfer would represent a move between clubs in two of Africa’s established domestic leagues, with Mechal potentially seeking to add an experienced goalkeeper to their squad. Camara’s current market valuation stands at €100,000, while the latest reported link between the player and Mechal is dated 17 August 2026.
