Liverpool have widened their interest in Paris Saint-Germain players to include teenage midfielder Ibrahim Mbaye, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Liverpool’s reported interest had previously been linked to PSG forward Bradley Barcola, but Romano says the Premier League club are also monitoring Barcola’s team-mate Mbaye.

The Reds are understood to have already made contact with Jorge Mendes, the prominent Portuguese agent who represents the 18-year-old Senegal international.

Mbaye remains under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until the summer of 2028. The length of that agreement means PSG retain the player’s services for the next two seasons, although Liverpool’s reported approach suggests the club are exploring the possibility of a future move.

Romano’s report indicates that Liverpool’s attention is not limited to one player at the French club. Alongside their interest in Bradley Barcola, they have now been linked with Mbaye, who is represented by one of football’s best-known agents.

No further details have been given about the nature of the contact between Liverpool and Jorge Mendes, or whether a formal offer has been made for Mbaye. The information currently concerns Liverpool’s reported interest and their initial communication with the player’s representative.

Mbaye’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain runs through to the end of the 2027-28 season. Any potential transfer would therefore involve a player who is tied to the French club for several more years.

The report places the 18-year-old at the centre of a developing transfer story involving two major European clubs. Liverpool are said to be considering both Mbaye and Barcola, while PSG remain the club with which the young Senegalese player is contracted.

For now, the key development is the reported contact with Mendes. Liverpool’s interest in Barcola was already known in the context of the report, but Romano’s latest information adds Mbaye to the list of PSG players being considered by the Premier League side.

The two players are team-mates at Paris Saint-Germain, and Mbaye’s existing deal means any discussions over his future would be conducted with the French club holding a long-term contractual position. His representation by Mendes provides the link through which Liverpool are reported to have begun exploring the situation.

There has been no confirmation of a completed transfer, an agreement with Mbaye or a formal deal between Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain. At this stage, the reported contact is between Liverpool and Mendes, with Mbaye’s contract at PSG continuing until summer 2028.
