Fikayo Tomori attracting Premier League interest ahead of January window

Fikayo Tomori could leave AC Milan in the January transfer window, with several Premier League clubs monitoring the England international of Nigerian descent.

Tottenham, Newcastle United and Tomori’s former club Chelsea are among those considering a move for the 28-year-old central defender as they assess options to strengthen their defences, according to TEAMtalk.

Manchester United, Aston Villa, Sunderland and Fulham are also understood to have made enquiries about Tomori’s situation. The level of interest reflects his experience in the Premier League, where he established himself before moving to Italy.

AC Milan are reportedly open to allowing Tomori to depart in January. According to the British outlet, his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, creating the possibility that the Serie A club could seek a fee during the winter window rather than risk losing him for nothing a few months later.

Intermediaries are already said to be working on identifying potential destinations for the defender. Tomori would reportedly welcome the prospect of returning to England, although it remains to be seen which club will make a formal approach in January and what financial terms Milan would demand.

Tomori came through Chelsea’s academy but struggled to establish himself permanently in the first team at Stamford Bridge. He moved to AC Milan and played a role in the club’s progress, including their Serie A title success in 2022.

His current value is estimated at 10m euros by Transfermarkt. The same information lists Tomori as being tied to the Italian club until June 2027, while the report concerning a possible January transfer states that his contract is set to run out at the end of the season.

AC Milan are due to play Udinese in their eighth match of the Italian championship.
