Anderlecht linked with Union Touarga striker Tawfik Bentayeb after Ligue 2 scoring success

Tawfik Bentayeb, the Morocco forward currently playing for Union Touarga, has been linked with a move to RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

The 24-year-old centre-forward returned to the Moroccan club after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at French side Troyes. He finished that campaign as Ligue 2’s top scorer with 18 goals, strengthening his profile ahead of a possible move to Belgium.

Bentayeb’s wider Ligue 2 record stands at 28 goals in 57 appearances, with four assists. He also scored three goals in four Coupe de France matches during his time in France.

The Casablanca-born striker joined Union Touarga from AM Football in September 2021 and has remained contracted to the club through a series of loan moves. His latest spell away ended on 30 June 2026, when he returned from Troyes.

Bentayeb has also scored 14 goals in 48 Botola Pro Inwi appearances for Union Touarga, adding to his record as a left-footed centre-forward. His current market value is listed at €8m.

Anderlecht’s reported interest comes as Bentayeb begins a new spell with Union Touarga, although the link remains a transfer rumour and there has been no confirmation of an agreement between the clubs.
