Nejmeh SC add Ghanaian midfielder Salifu Moro for Lebanese Premier League campaign

Ghanaian defensive midfielder Salifu Moro has joined Nejmeh SC from Libya’s Al-Ta’awon, strengthening the Lebanese Premier League club’s midfield ahead of the new season.

Moro, 27, moves to Lebanon after spending the second half of the 2025-26 season with Al-Ta’awon. He joined the Libyan side in February 2026 after a spell without a club, and made the switch to Nejmeh on 16 August.

The Tarkwa-born player has previously operated in Ghana, Egypt and Libya during a career that has included spells with Medeama, Bechem United, AFAD Djekanou and Ittihad Alex. His move to Al-Ta’awon followed his departure from Ittihad Alex in July 2025.

Moro’s senior record includes 95 Premier League appearances and one goal, while he also has experience in the Libyan Premier League, Egyptian League Cup, Egypt Cup, relegation play-offs and the Caf Confederation Cup. He scored once and provided one assist in six Libyan Premier League appearances.

At 1.91m, Moro brings considerable physical presence to the centre of the pitch. He is listed primarily as a defensive midfielder and is right-footed, offering Nejmeh an experienced option in a deeper midfield role.

His arrival continues a career that began with Medeama before he moved to Bechem United in 2017. He later joined Ivorian club AFAD Djekanou in 2019, returned to Bechem United in 2020 and moved to Ittihad Alex in 2021.

Nejmeh SC have now completed Moro’s move from Al-Ta’awon, with the Ghanaian midfielder joining the club on 16 August 2026.
