Ali Youssif: Al-Ittihad weigh move for Nantes centre-back

Ali Youssif, the 25-year-old Libyan defender at FC Nantes, has been linked with a move to Al-Ittihad in the Libyan Premier League.

Youssif joined Nantes from Club Africain on 19 January 2026 in a €500,000 transfer and remains under contract with the French club until 30 June 2028.

The centre-back has yet to make an appearance for Nantes in the 2026-27 Ligue 2 campaign, with the club having played two possible matches. He has not started or featured in either game.

Youssif moved to France after helping Club Africain win the Tunisian championship during the 2025-26 season. He had joined the Tunisian side from Al-Ahly in August 2024 on a free transfer.

The Libya international, who was born in Benghazi, is valued at €2.5m. Any move would therefore come with Nantes holding his registration and a further two years remaining on his contract.

Al-Ittihad’s reported interest comes during a period in which Youssif has not yet established himself in Nantes’ matchday plans. There is no indication of an agreed fee or completed negotiations, and the proposed transfer remains at the rumour stage.
