Jacques Ekomie transfer: Hamburg weigh €9m move for Angers defender

Gabonese-French left-back Jacques Ekomie is the subject of reported interest from Hamburg, with the 22-year-old currently at Angers SCO.

Hamburg, who are competing in the Bundesliga, are linked with a move for Ekomie as the German club assess options at left-back. The defender’s market value is listed at €9m, while his contract with Angers runs until 30 June 2027.

Ekomie has made 50 Ligue 1 appearances during his career, playing 2,935 minutes in the competition. He joined Angers from Bordeaux on 31 July 2024 in a free transfer and has since established himself at a club competing in France’s top flight.

Born in Libreville, Ekomie holds Gabonese and French nationality. He began his senior career with Bordeaux B before moving to Angers, where his current deal leaves the French club with two years remaining on his contract.

The reported interest comes with the transfer rumour’s probability listed at 43%, meaning there is no indication that a move has been agreed. Ekomie remains an Angers player, with the club retaining him under contract through June 2027.
