Simba SC weigh approach for Mashujaa FC forward Mgunda

Tanzanian centre-forward Ismail Mohamed Mgunda is being linked with a move from Mashujaa FC to Simba SC.

Mgunda, 31, has been with Mashujaa since July 2025, when he returned to the Tanzanian club after a spell at AS Vita Club. The proposed switch would keep the striker in Tanzania and place him at one of the country’s leading clubs.

He has made two appearances in the current PSL Promotion-Relegation Playoff campaign, scoring once. His goal came across 126 minutes of playing time, giving him a goal every 126 minutes in the competition.

Mgunda began his latest spell at Mashujaa after leaving AS Vita Club, where he had joined in February 2025. His earlier move to AS Vita followed a period at Mashujaa that began in July 2024 after he left Singida SC.

The forward’s career has also included spells with Ihefu S.C., Ruvu Shooting and Jomo Cosmos. He joined Jomo Cosmos from Ruvu Shooting in March 2018 before later returning to Ruvu Shooting at the start of 2019.

Born in Dar es Salaam, Mgunda represents Tanzania and stands 1.84m tall. He is right-footed and plays primarily through the centre of the attack.

The link with Simba comes while Mgunda remains a Mashujaa player, with the possible move currently at rumour stage.
