James Akaminko emerges as Al-Khader target after becoming a free agent
Ghana midfielder James Akaminko, currently without a club after leaving Azam FC, has been linked with a move to Jordanian side Al-Khader.
The 30-year-old central midfielder departed Azam on 1 July 2026 and is now being considered by Al-Khader as the club assesses its options in midfield. No transfer fee or contract terms have been reported for the proposed move.
Akaminko joined Azam from Ghanaian club Great Olympics in July 2022, having previously represented US Tataouine and Ashanti Gold. He began his senior career with Tema Youth after coming through Prampram FC.
He has made 87 appearances in the Premier League, scoring three goals and providing four assists. Akaminko has also featured in African club competition, recording nine appearances and one assist in the CAF Confederation Cup and two appearances in the CAF Champions League.
His highest recorded market value was €125,000, reached during his time at Great Olympics. The midfielder’s current unattached status follows the end of his spell with Azam, leaving him available for a potential move as Al-Khader’s interest develops.
