Alaa El Badry switches to Dayrout SC in latest Egyptian free-transfer move

Egyptian defensive midfielder Alaa El Badry has joined Dayrout SC from Kafr Elzayat on a free transfer, beginning a new chapter with the club at the age of 33.

El Badry’s move brings an experienced player into the Dayrout SC midfield after a short spell with Kafr Elzayat. He joined Kafr Elzayat from Baladiya on 1 January 2026, having previously moved to Baladiya from Qanah at the start of the 2025-26 season.

The Aswan-born midfielder has made 31 Premier League appearances and four Egypt Cup appearances in his recorded career. He played 2,147 minutes in the league and a further 289 minutes in the cup, giving him a substantial body of domestic football experience.

El Badry began his senior career with Aswan SC before joining El Dakhlia in August 2017. He then switched to Tanta SC in January 2018 and later moved to Qanah in August 2019. His transfer to Tanta was also completed without a fee, while the move to Qanah followed the end of his time at Tanta.

The midfielder’s route through Egyptian football has included spells at several clubs, with his most recent moves arriving in quick succession. He left Qanah for Baladiya in July 2025, changed clubs again for Kafr Elzayat six months later and has now signed for Dayrout SC.

El Badry’s primary role is in defensive midfield, where he has built his career in Egypt’s domestic game. His latest switch also continues a sequence of free transfers stretching back to his move from Tanta SC to Qanah, with no transfer fee attached to the move to Dayrout SC.

Dayrout SC are the latest club to secure the services of the Egyptian midfielder, who has spent the majority of his career playing in his home country. The move adds another domestic option to their midfield for the 2026-27 season.

El Badry completed his free transfer from Kafr Elzayat to Dayrout SC on 15 August 2026.
