Al Ahly land Egypt midfielder Mohamed Abdelnasser in €517k El Mokawloon move

Egyptian attacking midfielder Mohamed Abdelnasser has joined Al Ahly from El Mokawloon for €517,000, completing a move between two Premier League clubs.

The 19-year-old, who is right-footed, has signed a contract with Al Ahly running until 30 June 2031. He becomes the club’s latest addition after leaving El Mokawloon, where he established himself during the 2025-26 campaign.

Abdelnasser made 20 Premier League appearances for El Mokawloon, playing 531 minutes. He also featured 10 times in the relegation play-off, scoring twice and providing two assists, before adding one goal in nine Egyptian League Cup appearances.

His other appearance during the season came in the Egypt Cup, where he played 29 minutes. The figures represent his recent competitive involvement before making the switch to Al Ahly on 15 August 2026.

Abdelnasser joined El Mokawloon from the club’s Under-23 side in January 2024. His move to Al Ahly is the first transfer fee recorded for his departure from the club, following his earlier progression from the youth set-up.

The teenager’s listed position is attacking midfield, giving Al Ahly a player who operates in an advanced role. His nationality and age also underline the domestic nature of the recruitment, with Abdelnasser moving within Egypt rather than leaving the country.

Al Ahly and El Mokawloon both compete in the Premier League, making the transfer a direct move between clubs from the same division. Abdelnasser’s new agreement keeps him at Al Ahly through the end of June 2031.

He joins the Cairo club with a recorded market value of €175,000, while the transfer fee is €517,000. Abdelnasser officially completed his move to Al Ahly on 15 August 2026.
