Jwaya SC bolster midfield with Nigeria and Tanzania international Morice Chukwu

Morice Chukwu, the Nigeria and Tanzania midfielder, has joined Lebanese Premier League club Jwaya SC from Tanzanian side Singida SC.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder completed the move on 15 August 2026 after spending the previous season with Singida. Chukwu is right-footed and has built his career across clubs in Nigeria and Tanzania.

Chukwu has made 147 appearances in the Nigerian Professional Football League, scoring six goals and providing six assists. He has also featured in African club competitions, recording 22 appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup and six in the CAF Champions League.

His continental record includes one CAF Confederation Cup goal and one Champions League assist. He has also played five times in the NPFL play-offs, scoring once.

Chukwu arrives at Jwaya with two Nigerian league titles on his CV. He won the championship with Akwa United in the 2020-21 season before helping Rivers United claim the title in 2021-22.

The midfielder began his senior club career with Go Round FC before joining Akwa United in September 2019. He moved to Rivers United in May 2021 and later switched to Fountain Gate in July 2023.

During the 2023-24 season, Chukwu joined Ihefu S.C. before returning to Tanzania with Singida SC. He subsequently spent part of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at TRA United, returning to Singida at the end of that spell.

Jwaya becomes the latest club in Chukwu’s career as he moves into the Lebanese Premier League. His arrival follows a playing record that includes domestic football in both Nigeria and Tanzania, along with experience in the CAF Confederation Cup, CAF Champions League and NPFL play-offs.

Born in Ebonyi on 27 July 2002, Chukwu has represented clubs in four of Nigeria’s major domestic sides and continued his career in Tanzania before making the switch to Lebanon.
