Edson Lima joins Feirense U19 in free transfer from Metz

Luxembourg and Cape Verde midfielder Edson Lima has joined Feirense U19 from FC Metz U19 on a free transfer, completing his move to Portugal on 15 August 2026.

The 18-year-old central midfielder arrives after a season in which he made 20 appearances in the National U19 – Group B competition, scoring three goals and playing 1,454 minutes. He also featured six times in National 2 – Group E, with 129 minutes on the pitch.

Lima was born in Luxembourg on 16 February 2008 and stands 1.80m tall. He is right-footed and has played primarily in central midfield throughout his youth career.

The move brings an end to his time with Metz, where he progressed through several age groups. He joined Metz U19 from Metz U17 in July 2025, having moved from Metz Youth to the under-17 side a year earlier.

Before joining Metz, Lima spent time with F91 Youth, completing that move in July 2021. His switch to the French club’s youth setup was made on a free transfer.

Lima’s latest move takes him into the Feirense youth structure, with the Portuguese club becoming the fourth youth side recorded in his career. He made one appearance in the National U19 – Final Phase during the previous campaign, while also being included in the Coupe Gambardella records.

His strongest return came in the National U19 – Group B, where he recorded three goals across 20 appearances. The midfielder’s involvement across both under-19 and National 2 football gave him experience in two levels of French competition before his move abroad.

Feirense U19 have now added a player with experience in central midfield and a recent record of regular under-19 involvement. Lima’s arrival also marks his first recorded move away from France since joining Metz’s youth system.

The transfer was completed without a fee, and no contract length has been specified for the Luxembourg-Cape Verde midfielder. Edson Lima is now a Feirense U19 player after completing his free transfer from FC Metz U19.
