TP Mazembe have continued to reshape their squad by completing the signing of Mali defensive midfielder Ben Moussa Dao from Mauritanian club FC Nzidane.

The Lubumbashi club have confirmed the arrival of the midfielder as they prepare for their next competitive commitments. Dao has signed a two-year contract with the Congolese side, adding further strength and depth to the centre of their team.

The move represents an important step in the player’s career and gives TP Mazembe’s coaching staff another option in midfield. Dao is regarded for his high work-rate, physical presence and ability to recover possession, qualities that are expected to reinforce the club’s defensive structure.

His arrival is part of TP Mazembe’s wider plans to restructure the squad ahead of the 2026-27 season. The club are targeting a strong return both domestically and in continental competition, with their ambitions extending beyond strengthening individual areas of the team.

Dao’s profile offers a combination of athleticism and versatility in the middle of the pitch. His ability to contribute to defensive work and cover ground is expected to provide an additional tactical solution as TP Mazembe prepare for the demands of the new campaign.

The signing also underlines the club’s desire to improve their competitiveness. By adding a midfielder with a reputation for intensity and ball-winning, TP Mazembe are seeking to build greater solidity through the centre of the team before the season begins.

Dao joins from FC Nzidane, who compete in Mauritania, and will now continue his development with one of the leading clubs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The transfer gives him the opportunity to take on a new challenge while becoming part of TP Mazembe’s plans for the 2026-27 season.

The Corbeaux are aiming to make a forceful return to the top of the domestic game while also challenging at continental level. Their priority remains the pursuit of success in Africa, and the recruitment of Dao is viewed as another significant move in the club’s effort to strengthen its squad.

With a two-year agreement in place, the Mali midfielder becomes the latest addition to a TP Mazembe team being rebuilt around the demands of the season ahead. His arrival is intended to add balance, physical power and greater flexibility to the midfield as the Lubumbashi club pursue their national and continental objectives.
