Daugavpils bring in Nigerian teenager Musab Suleiman from Footwork FC

Nigeria striker Mus’ab Suleiman has joined Latvian club Daugavpils from Footwork FC, completing the move on 14 August 2026.

The 18-year-old forward arrives as a new attacking option for a Daugavpils side competing in Latvia’s Virsliga. Suleiman, who stands at 1.90m, is registered as a striker and will continue his career in Latvia after leaving Footwork FC.

Suleiman’s move was recorded at the start of the 2026-27 season, with Daugavpils confirming his arrival during the opening weeks of the campaign. The transfer links the Nigerian teenager with a club whose senior team is also competing in the 2026 Latvian Cup.

He has yet to make an appearance for Daugavpils in that competition. The striker has not started a match, played a minute or recorded a goal or assist in the Latvian Cup this season, meaning his competitive debut for the club remains to come.

Suleiman’s arrival provides Daugavpils with a young centre-forward who has already moved into senior football at an early stage of his career. His height and listed position give a clear indication of the role for which he has been signed, although the club has not announced details of his playing schedule or contract terms.

The move also marks Suleiman’s first recorded switch from Footwork FC to a club competing in a recognised European top-flight system. Daugavpils compete in the Virsliga, Latvia’s principal domestic league, placing the Nigerian in a new footballing environment after his time with Footwork FC.

Suleiman was born on 30 April 2008 and is 18 years old. He is listed with Nigerian nationality and joins Daugavpils as one of the younger players in the club’s attacking group.

With no transfer fee disclosed, the completed move was registered on 14 August 2026. Mus’ab Suleiman is now a Daugavpils player after switching from Footwork FC.
