Al-Madina recruit Loren Zuniga from Real Madrid Castilla

Equatorial Guinea and Spain forward Loren Zuniga has joined Libyan Premier League club Al-Madina from Real Madrid Castilla. The 23-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract running until 30 June 2029.

Zuniga makes the move after playing in Spain’s Primera Federacion with Real Madrid’s reserve side, where he recorded five goals and two assists in 41 appearances. He played 1,670 minutes in the competition, scoring once every 334 minutes.

The Puerto del Rosario-born striker is capable of using both feet and stands 1.83m tall. His arrival gives Al-Madina a forward who has experience across Spain’s professional league system, including time in LaLiga2 and the Primera Federacion.

Zuniga joined RM Castilla from Real Madrid C in July 2024, having moved into the club’s structure after beginning his senior career with Malaga. He joined Real Madrid C from Malaga CF in January 2024 in a free transfer.

Before entering senior football, Zuniga came through the youth systems at Malaga and San Felix. He played for Malaga’s Under-19 side during the 2019-20 season before moving to San Felix Under-19, then returned to Malaga’s academy structure the following year.

His record also includes 30 LaLiga2 appearances and further outings in the Copa del Rey, the Premier League International Cup Under-21 competition and promotion play-offs. The available career record covers domestic competitions in Spain and provides the statistical background to his move away from Real Madrid’s reserve system.

Zuniga holds Equatorial Guinean and Spanish nationality. He now begins the next stage of his career in Libya, with Al-Madina his first club outside Spain.

The transfer was completed on 14 August 2026, and Zuniga is contracted to Al-Madina until June 2029.
