Sekou Djanbou begins new chapter at Racing Club de Ferrol after Real Murcia spell

Sekou Djanbou is leaving Real Murcia to join Racing Club de Ferrol after spending the 2025/26 season with the Murcia-based club, with Real Murcia retaining a percentage of any future sale involving the midfielder.

The financial details of the move have not been disclosed. The length of Djanbou’s agreement with Racing Club de Ferrol has also not been announced, according to an exclusive report by Africa Top Sports.

Djanbou arrived at Real Murcia during the summer 2025 transfer window and was included in the club’s squad for the 2025/26 campaign. He now moves on after making 26 appearances for the club last season in all competitions.

Those outings came across Liga and Copa del Rey competition, giving the 21-year-old further experience before his switch to Racing Club de Ferrol. He will turn 22 on 13 September.

The midfielder has already built a career that has taken him to several countries. Before his time in Murcia, he gained experience in Burkina Faso, the United Arab Emirates and the Czech Republic.

His move to Racing Club de Ferrol represents the next stage of that progression, with the player expected to make an impact in his new colours during the season ahead. Djanbou is regarded as a midfielder who arrives with experience from different football environments, having previously played in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

Although the agreement’s duration has not been made public, the decision by Real Murcia to keep a percentage of a future transfer means the Spanish club could benefit if Djanbou moves again at a later date. No figure has been provided for the current transfer, and no further contractual details have been released.

Djanbou’s departure brings an end to his spell at Real Murcia after one season in which he featured regularly enough to record 26 appearances between Liga and Copa del Rey. His next challenge will come with Racing Club de Ferrol, where expectations are high for the player as he continues his development.

The move also adds another step to a career that has already included football in Burkina Faso, the United Arab Emirates, the Czech Republic and Spain. At 21, Djanbou will now look to build on his campaign with Real Murcia and establish himself under his new colours at Racing Club de Ferrol.
