French-Algerian striker Abdelsamad Hachem joins Virton from Red Star

French-Algerian centre-forward Abdelsamad Hachem has joined Belgian club RE Virton from Red Star FC on loan until 30 June 2027.

The 24-year-old moves to the Challenger Pro League side after making one Ligue 2 appearance for Red Star during the 2026-27 campaign. Hachem played one minute in that outing and did not score.

Hachem’s switch to Virton was completed on 14 August 2026, giving him a move across the border as he continues his career in Belgium. The transfer is a temporary one, with the agreement scheduled to end on 30 June 2027.

The striker joined Red Star on a free transfer from Paris 13 Atletico on 1 July 2025. He had spent the previous season with Paris 13 Atletico after leaving FC 93 Bobigny, having earlier been part of the OGC Nice B squad.

Hachem began his youth career with Drancy before moving to Nice’s youth setup in 2019. He progressed into senior football with OGC Nice B and later represented FC 93 Bobigny, where he remained until his move to Paris 13 Atletico in 2024.

Born in Livry-Gargan, France, Hachem holds French and Algerian nationality. He stands 1.85m tall and is right-footed, with centre-forward listed as his main position.

Virton compete in Belgium’s second tier, while Red Star play in France’s Ligue 2. Hachem’s arrival therefore represents a change of league and country, as well as his first recorded move outside France.

The loan return arrangement means Hachem is due to return to Red Star when the agreement expires at the end of June 2027. His move to RE Virton was completed on loan on 14 August 2026.
