Galatasaray eye Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri after Marseille loan
England and Nigeria midfielder Ethan Nwaneri, currently at Arsenal, has been linked with a move to Galatasaray in Turkey’s Super Lig.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder returned to Arsenal on 30 June after spending the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Marseille. He had joined the French club from Arsenal in January, with the loan including a €1.5m fee.
Nwaneri made nine Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille, scoring twice and providing one assist. He also featured twice in the Coupe de France, although his loan spell ended with a return to north London.
Before moving temporarily to France, Nwaneri had established himself in Arsenal’s first-team squad. He made 34 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals and recording two assists, and was part of the Arsenal side that won the English title in 2025-26.
The London-born player joined Arsenal’s senior squad from the club’s under-21 side in July 2024. His current contract runs until June 2030, meaning any deal with Galatasaray would involve Arsenal agreeing terms rather than Nwaneri being available as a free agent.
Nwaneri’s market value is listed at €35m, while Arsenal have not indicated that he is available for transfer. The Galatasaray link therefore remains a rumour, with the midfielder currently under contract at Arsenal.
