Harit linked with Al-Shamal move after Marseille return
Amine Harit, the Moroccan-French winger currently at Marseille, has been linked with a move to Qatar Stars League club Al-Shamal SC.
The 29-year-old returned to Marseille on 30 June 2026 after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Turkish side Basaksehir. His contract with the Ligue 1 club runs until 30 June 2027.
Harit joined Marseille permanently from Schalke in July 2023 for a reported €5m, having previously spent two seasons with the French club on loan. He had originally moved to Marseille from Schalke in September 2021 before returning to the German side at the end of that campaign.
The left winger has made 104 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists. His wider club record also includes 102 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke, where he scored 12 goals and contributed 18 assists.
Harit began his senior career with Nantes before moving to Schalke in 2017. He was named the Bundesliga club’s best young player in 2018 and was part of the Schalke side that finished runners-up in the Bundesliga in the 2017-18 season.
He remains under contract at Marseille, with Al-Shamal’s reported interest emerging soon after his return from his latest loan spell.
