Egypt defender Ahmed El Gohary makes El Obour switch

Egyptian left-back Ahmed El Gohary has opened a new chapter by joining El Obour from Delta United on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old completed the move on 12 August 2026 and has signed a contract with El Obour running until 30 June 2028. The agreement gives the Cairo-born defender a new club after his time with Delta United.

El Gohary operates primarily at left-back and is naturally left-footed, offering El Obour a defender suited to the position on the left side of the team. He was born in Cairo on 15 March 1998 and represents Egypt in terms of nationality.

The transfer moves him to El Obour without a fee after his spell with Delta United. No transfer payment is involved in the switch, which was finalised during the 2026 summer transfer period.

El Gohary’s arrival continues his club career in Egypt, with the player now contracted to El Obour for the next two seasons. His deal is scheduled to remain in place through the end of June 2028.

The move was completed on 12 August, with El Gohary joining El Obour as an established left-back.
