Abdoul Ouattara: Ipswich linked with Strasbourg right-back
Ivory Coast and France defender Abdoul Ouattara is the Strasbourg right-back linked with a move to Ipswich in a transfer rumour involving the Premier League club.
Ouattara, 20, plays on the right side of defence and has a contract with Strasbourg until 30 June 2029. He joined the club’s senior side from Strasbourg B on 1 January 2025, having progressed through the French club’s youth system.
The defender has made 45 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He has also played in European competition, making eight Conference League appearances and scoring twice.
Ouattara’s listed market value is €15m, although no transfer fee has been reported in connection with the Ipswich rumour. His current deal means Strasbourg are under no immediate pressure to sell, with more than two years remaining on the contract.
Born in Zoukpangbeu, Ouattara is eligible to represent both Ivory Coast and France. He has remained with Strasbourg since joining the club’s academy, moving through the under-17 and under-19 sides before progressing to the reserve team and then the first team.
Ipswich are the club linked with the potential move, but the transfer remains unconfirmed. Ouattara is currently a Strasbourg player under contract through June 2029.
