Pau FC sign French-Togolese midfielder Luan Gadegbeku from Saint-Etienne on loan
French-Togolese midfielder Luan Gadegbeku has joined Pau FC from Saint-Etienne on loan, completing a move between two Ligue 2 clubs.
The 19-year-old central midfielder moved on 12 August 2026, with the loan scheduled to run until 30 June 2027. He will return to Saint-Etienne at the end of the agreement.
Gadegbeku is a left-footed player who stands 1.86m tall. Born in Juvisy-sur-Orge, France, he holds French and Togolese nationality and has developed through the French club system.
He became part of Saint-Etienne’s senior structure after moving from Saint-Etienne B to the first team in July 2025. Before that, he had progressed from the club’s Under-19 side to its reserve team, following his arrival from Fleury Jugend in 2022 on a free transfer.
Gadegbeku joins Pau after beginning the 2026-27 campaign with Saint-Etienne. He had not made a Ligue 2 appearance in the season before his move, with the transfer taking place after one league fixture had been recorded.
His current market value is listed at €800,000, although no transfer fee has been given for the loan agreement. Pau and Saint-Etienne are both competing in Ligue 2, meaning the move keeps Gadegbeku in the same division while changing his club for the campaign.
The transfer adds a young central midfielder to Pau’s squad, while Saint-Etienne retain the player’s registration ahead of his scheduled return next summer. Gadegbeku’s record at the time of the move did not include a senior Ligue 2 appearance or goal.
Gadegbeku has therefore switched from Saint-Etienne to Pau FC on loan until 30 June 2027.
