Jeremiah Mensah makes Roda JC move as Leverkusen teenager joins Dutch second tier

German-Ghanaian attacking midfielder Jeremiah Mensah has joined Roda JC from Leverkusen Under-19s on loan, completing a move to the Dutch club at the age of 18.

Mensah’s temporary switch to the Keuken Kampioen Divisie side was completed on 12 August 2026. The loan runs until 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to Leverkusen’s Under-19 team.

The move gives Mensah experience outside Germany after three seasons within Leverkusen’s youth structure. He joined the club’s youth set-up in 2023 before progressing to the Under-17 side for the 2023-24 season and then moving into the Under-19 squad in July 2025.

Mensah is listed as an attacking midfielder and stands 1.77m tall. He began the 2026-27 campaign with an appearance in the DFB-Pokal der Junioren, scoring once in an 80-minute outing. That goal was his only recorded appearance in the competition before his move to the Netherlands.

At Roda JC, Mensah joins a club competing in the second tier of Dutch football. The transfer provides the Germany- and Ghana-qualified player with a change of environment while preserving his link with Leverkusen through the loan arrangement.

Mensah’s move comes with his market value listed at €2m, while no transfer fee has been recorded for the deal. His existing club details run through June 2027, matching the scheduled end of his spell at Roda JC.

The teenager’s arrival adds an attacking midfield option to Roda JC’s squad for the 2026-27 season. He will remain registered with the Dutch club until the end of June, after which he will return to Leverkusen Under-19s.

Jeremiah Mensah has therefore completed a loan transfer from Leverkusen U19 to Roda JC until 30 June 2027.
