Jordan Mendes linked with Al Ahly move from Rodez AF

Jordan Mendes, the Cape Verdean-French midfielder at Rodez AF, is reportedly being considered by Egyptian Premier League club Al Ahly.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has started Rodez’s only Ligue 2 match of the 2026-27 season, providing one assist in 100 minutes. He joined the French club from FC Versailles on 1 July 2025 and has since established himself as part of their midfield options.

Mendes is valued at €2m and remains under contract with Rodez until 30 June 2028. That deal means any move to Al Ahly would require the Egyptian club to negotiate a transfer with Rodez rather than sign the player as a free agent.

A right-footed midfielder, Mendes came through the Versailles system before making the move to Rodez. His current campaign began with a full appearance and an assist, giving him a goal involvement in the club’s opening league fixture.

The reported interest comes one year after his arrival at Rodez and follows a rise in his stated market value to €2m. No transfer fee or agreement has been reported, and the move remains at the rumour stage.

Mendes is currently registered with Rodez and continues to operate under his existing contract, with the French club holding his services for the next two seasons beyond the current campaign.
