Leipzig linked with Midtjylland forward Franculino
Franculino, a Guinea-Bissau and Portuguese forward at Midtjylland, has been linked with a move to Bundesliga side Leipzig.
The 22-year-old centre-forward has a market value of €22m and is under contract with the Danish club until 31 December 2029. No transfer fee has been reported for a potential move, and the rumour remains unconfirmed.
Franculino has started all five of Midtjylland’s competitive matches this season, scoring twice. He scored once in one Conference League qualifying appearance and has added one goal in two Danish Superliga games.
The forward joined Midtjylland from Benfica’s under-23 side in July 2023 on a free transfer. He was part of the squad that won the Danish title in his first season at the club and finished as the Superliga’s leading scorer in 2025-26 with 17 goals.
He also won the Danish Cup with Midtjylland last season, having previously won the UEFA Youth League with Benfica’s academy in 2021-22.
Franculino’s current agreement gives Midtjylland control of his future for more than three years, while Leipzig are the club currently linked with a move.
