Munir El Kajoui linked with return to RS Berkane

Morocco and Spain goalkeeper Munir El Kajoui, currently without a club, is being linked with a return to RS Berkane in Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi.

The 37-year-old left Berkane on 1 July 2026, having spent the previous two seasons with the club. He joined from Saudi Arabian side Al-Wehda in July 2024 on a free transfer and helped Berkane win the CAF Confederation Cup and Moroccan league title during the 2024-25 season.

El Kajoui was also part of Morocco’s Africa Cup-winning team in 2025. He has represented both Morocco and Spain at international level and was a member of the Morocco Olympic team that finished third at the 2024 Olympic Games.

A return to Berkane would come after a career that has included spells in Spain, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Before joining Al-Wehda, El Kajoui played for Hatayspor, Malaga and CD Numancia, having begun his senior career in the lower divisions with clubs in his native Melilla.

The goalkeeper’s most recent recorded move was his departure from RS Berkane to become a free agent at the start of July. He is currently listed without a club, while a possible return to the Moroccan side remains a rumour.
