Man Utd forward Chido Obi linked with Bundesliga switch to Cologne
Chido Obi, the Denmark-Nigeria forward currently with Man Utd U21, has been linked with a move to Bundesliga club 1. FC Koln.
The 18-year-old centre-forward joined Manchester United’s under-21 side on 1 July 2026 and could now be the subject of interest from Germany, although there has been no confirmation that a transfer is close.
Obi is listed as a right-footed striker and stands 1.88m tall. He has a market value of €5m, a figure that could provide an indication of his current standing as clubs assess a potential move.
The Glostrup-born player has represented both Denmark and Nigeria in his football eligibility, but his senior international record is not established in the information available.
Obi’s youth record includes a prolific 2023-24 campaign, when he finished as the U18 Premier League’s top goalscorer with 32 goals. He also topped the scoring charts in the FA Youth Cup in 2024-25, scoring seven times.
The proposed move would take Obi from Manchester United’s development set-up to a Bundesliga club, but the rumour contains no confirmed fee, agreement or probability of completion. For now, he remains registered as a centre-forward with Man Utd U21.
