Trabzonspor break season-ticket record after Mohamed Salah signing

Trabzonspor have sold a club-record 18,000 season tickets for the 2026-27 campaign after signing Egypt international Mohamed Salah from Liverpool on a free transfer.

The Turkish club said it had surpassed its previous best figure for season-ticket sales and immediately set a new target of 25,000 tickets.

Salah has joined Trabzonspor on a two-season contract following nine seasons with Liverpool. The 34-year-old forward made 315 appearances for the Reds, scoring 257 goals and providing 120 assists.

Trabzonspor announced the new record in a statement on its official account on X, linking the surge in support to the club’s ambition and the bond between the team and the city.

“Not every record is merely a number… some numbers tell the story of a city’s belief, its sense of belonging, and the strength of a community united as one.”

The club added: “Today, the title of this number is: 18,000. By reaching the mark of 18,000 season tickets for the 2026-27 season, we have broken the historic season-ticket sales record in our club’s history. This achievement was made possible by sound planning, collective wisdom, patience and the united efforts of hearts committed to one goal.”

Trabzonspor continued: “Because Trabzonspor has never been satisfied with the peaks it has reached. Our story has always been about those who go beyond their own limits.”

The statement then outlined the club’s next objective: “While we take pride in the record we achieved today, we are announcing our new target at the same time… 25,000 season tickets! Because this city has never been content to stop at the summit.

“This crest has always looked towards a new victory on the day after every achievement. We thank all our supporters who contributed to this historic achievement and became part of this great journey.”

According to Turkish broadcaster HT Spor, Trabzonspor generated about 12m euros from season-ticket sales and Mohamed Salah shirts in a short period of only three days.

The club has also disclosed the financial details of Salah’s contract. He is set to receive an annual salary of 10m euros, along with a 7m euro signing-on bonus, taking his guaranteed total financial package to 17m euros.

The agreement also includes performance-related financial incentives linked to the player’s displays during the contract period.

Trabzonspor said Salah would additionally receive 20% of the income from official merchandise released in his name. The player’s agent is due a commission of 5%, according to the published contract details.

Salah spent nine seasons at Liverpool before making the move to Trabzonspor. During his time at Anfield, he established himself as one of the club’s leading goalscorers, finishing his Liverpool spell with 257 goals and 120 assists in 315 matches.
