Greece hand Jurgen Klopp first defeat as Germany manager in Nations League

Greece beat Germany 1-0 in the Nations League to inflict Jurgen Klopp’s first defeat since he took charge of the national team.

Dimitris Kourbelis scored the only goal of the match in the 74th minute, securing victory for Greece in the second round of Group B in League A.

The game was only Klopp’s second in charge of Germany. He was appointed after the World Cup following the departure of Julian Nagelsmann.

Klopp’s opening match ended in a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands, meaning Germany had begun his tenure unbeaten before their loss to Greece.

The result lifted Greece to the top of the group with six points from two matches.

The Netherlands are second on four points, two behind the leaders, while Germany remain third with one point. Serbia are fourth and bottom of the group without a point.
