Auda Fakhouri assists as Jordan draw 1-1 with Syria in 50th meeting

Auda Fakhouri of Pyramids provided the assist as Jordan drew 1-1 with Syria in a friendly match played as part of preparations for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.

The fixture at King Abdullah II Stadium in Jordan was the 50th meeting between the two national teams across friendly and competitive matches.

The result was the 15th draw between them. Syria have now recorded 20 victories, while Jordan have won 15 of the previous encounters.

Jordan, managed by Badou Zaki, took the lead in the first half when Ali Olwan finished with a powerful low shot following a pass from Fakhouri.

Syria, known as the Eagles of Qasioun, levelled in the second half through Jan Mustafa, who scored in the 53rd minute.

Jordan will play another friendly during their current training camp, facing Venezuela on 6 October.

The Jordanian national team are in Group B for the Asian Cup alongside Bahrain, North Korea and Uzbekistan.

Syria have been drawn in Group C with Iran, China and Kyrgyzstan.

The 2027 AFC Asian Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia from 7 January to 5 February.
